Russia and Ukraine

Quote:Ukrainian forces say they have destroyed a Russian missile boat from the Black Sea Fleet in a special operation off Russian-occupied Crimea.

The Ivanovets - a small warship - received "direct hits to the hull" overnight, after which it sank, military intelligence said.

It has released video footage that purports to show the moment of impact, followed by a big explosion.
There has been no word about the incident from Russian authorities.

The video confirms the claim.

That's a pretty facile reading, I'd say.

These fools are becoming, or are dangerous to this country's values and other things. I bet they are even a danger to the USA themselves. With that said, they are the stagnancy that is brainwashing the people who are being used and manipulated like sheep. Whatever the case, the republicans' supporters and what they have become have made it so that they do not really have free will since they are more so brainwashed by the republicans, so while they may be here, I doubt they should be considered residents of the USA since they blindly support people who are not for this nation.

1) I don't think all Republicans are brainwashed. I think the MAGAts are certainly in a form of self-hypnosis, only consuming content that supports their world-view and denouncing everything else as "fake news". That's self-programming.

The other Republicans who aren't Trumpeteers are generally cowards who will not stake their political careers to fight this obvious disease. They'd rather go along to get along --and, incidentally, stay in office sucking that that gubmint teat they claim to despise -- or they'd rather wait until they retire from office (and therefore have no leverage in the party) before speaking out. Three exceptions to this: Romney, Liz Cheney, and Adam Kinzinger.

2) I'm not keen on stripping citizens of their citizenship for the act of expressing political opinions, no matter how stupid or obnoxious they are. We don't even strip traitors of their citizenship; we convict them and then jail or execute them. Criminalizing political thought almost certainly would fail the First Amendment tests, too.

And even for those three it wasn't a matter of doing the right thing, for Romney it was petty revenge to petty slights and insults, for Cheney and Kitzinger it was because T****y blocked their access to (increased) power.

@GUBU, Cheney at the least spoke out before she'd hit Trump's shitlist. Only after objecting to the stolen-election lies was she stripped of power by House Republicans and hounded from office by the voters.

Woah, that is not cool. They must be referring to her as a republican in all but name. She was doing the right thing against Trump, and with that, those people are crazy and can't seem to think for themselves. I doubt they even realize why Trump is such a bad person to see that she was right to do what she did. I don't know how many idiots there are in this country, but there are too many of them.

Even after "turning" on T****y she kept voting party line, as he wanted.

It’s all part of Putin’s master plan for the environment - creating artificial reefs for the fishies.

Speaking of reefs, my last sea duty was on the USS Oriskany, which was scuttled (on purpose) off the Florida coast, to make a reef. I'm not ashamed to admit that that was a pretty eerie sight, for me.

She voted the party line because she's a party hack, not because that's what he wanted. You're moving your goalposts, too. First you objected that the three I listed gig nothin out of fear of losing power. Now you're objecting that she maintained her partisan views even though Trump shared some of them.

I can see no way to interpret "I am against Person X, but I'll continue to do everything in my power to do everything they want" to be an honest attempt to go against that person.

Cheney wanted to have her cake and eat it too. She is honestly worse than the lickspittles that are visibly bought.
