I miss my old friends. I think about them every day. I doubt any new friends I could make would live up to what I used to have.

Get out there and test that theory.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
I'll get around to it. But about the soul forge. I like that idea a lot, and I'm not particularly willing to back off it.

I like vanilla icecream, won't be backing off of that. The issues with the forge remain whether you like the idea or not.

Except for how it doesn't work, can't work, and even if it somehow could, hasn't been working on you as an example of a sufferer being forged.
Sure, aside from all that, perfect. Top notch, 10/10. (February 25, 2022 at 3:26 pm)Cavalry Wrote: Interesting therapy session going on here. This guy's good. Yet another service we provide.

Did I mention the soul forgee only reaps the benefit of his/her suffering in the afterlife, and not while living in this world?

Quote:The just-world hypothesis or just-world fallacy is the cognitive bias that assumes that "people get what they deserve" – that actions will have morally fair and fitting consequences for the actor. For example, the assumptions that noble actions will eventually be rewarded and evil actions will eventually be punished fall under this hypothesis. In other words, the just-world hypothesis is the tendency to attribute consequences to—or expect consequences as the result of— either a universal force that restores moral balance or a universal connection between the nature of actions and their results. This belief generally implies the existence of cosmic justice, destiny, divine providence, desert, stability, and/or order. It is often associated with a variety of fundamental fallacies, especially in regard to rationalizing suffering on the grounds that the sufferers "deserve" it. RE: A different perspective

What benefits, it cant work as described. Human beings are just too damned good at not suffering. People worse off than yourself..and I don't mean a little, I mean alot.. are (apparently) much happier than you are. It's a simpletons idea right on the face of it. The soul forge is a bit different than just world, btw angr. A soul forge may be unjust - no one does anything in particular to deserve it - it's just there to mold the clay or fire it.
