Ban assault rifles?

I had no idea that deer and hogs were that heavily armed. I've also heard "for home protection" - which from a tactical standpoint is ridiculous for home protection. I think it's more of the whole "we want them just because we want them" and to occasionally get blitzed off of Milwaukee's Best (the Beast) and shoot up old cars on cinder blocks in the front yard. Other than that it ends up boiling down to someone muttering about the second amendment and their civil right. I totally agree. In France the possession of firearms is very restricted and that's a good thing ! I understand the whole '2nd amendment right' thing, that sounds reasonable to me, but authorizing the possession of assault rifles wtf ?! what about heavy machineguns or handgrenades ? You never know when a whole communist squad is gonna attack your house and family ! I'd go further for the ban: who needs a glock with a seventeen bullets magazine ? (except a disturbed kid who wants to start a massacre in his school...). I think I'd only allow non automatic (not even semi-auto) handguns. All you need to protect your home is dirty Harry's .44 magnum . Everybody knows a big car and a big gun compensate a small dick. Any shorter and it becomes a Tanto (knife).
