I’ve only ever heard of religious people punishing religious people for being religious. I can’t speak for all atheists, only for those I know and myself. I couldn’t care less what you believe. It’s only what you do that matters, and even then only to the extent that it negatively impacts other people.

I would only torment religious people if I were their god (and they disobeyed me like the golden calf incident, or I just wanted to stroke my ego as with Job).  I believe everyone has the right to find their own meaning in life. If that meaning is found by being a troll in forums, following a religion, or being nice to others, its all fine. I have a problem with people who cause demonstrable harm to others. If that harm is inspired by religion, or hate, that is NOT fine. OP: I don't really care until they personally offend me (i.e. you're going to hell/I'll pray for you/be gone satan), then it's game on.
