I got a mug that said "I love you more than my sibling does - your favorite" - anonymously gifted.....

Apparently, they had a debate as to whether they should get that for fathers day..or another mug, which was for mothers day - I'm both to them.... that read.

(I also got a case of beer, a bag of charcoal, and ground beef/heebdogs...with all the fixings. You see, fathers day is a day I where I'm obligated to make them the grilled deliciousness in return for paltry amounts of brew. Just enough to keep me from heat exhaustion whilst standing over the grill)

I had a great day with family, although my daughter was out of town and we celebrated a few days earlier.

On a Sunday full of fatherly metaphors, I had to consider this a bit.  I love my daughter more than anything.  If I were a monster, which I'm not, I could follow the "father's" example.  I would just need to show that love by communicating it to her solely in a poorly translated, inconsistent, inaccurate collection of documents.  Then, loving her so much, I could threaten (via interpreters speaking for me, not necessarily via the documents) to torture her for all eternity if she failed to live up to the vague expectations in that set of documents.  That seems to pretty much sum it up.
