IDK if it would apply to those companies, but I know that in the us small farms have a larger carbon footprint than larger ones on an acre to acre basis. Comes down to efficiency and strict control. It's not inconceivable that a similar set of circumstances are at play between smaller and larger producers of other products. Wherein the larger company through more efficient use of resources and tighter control over process ends up quite unintentionally producing a reduced carbon footprint relative to a smaller competitor. I'm sure they'd market it if they could demonstrate it, though..so..idk.
