The Absurd GOP
RE: The Absurd GOP
It may be toxic co-dependency, but one side only wants to debase and debauch the country willy nilly for as long as he lives. The other has a master plan to keep it debased and debauched forever.

Trump cares nothing about policy - he just wants money and adoring "fans".

Disagree on #1, and agree on #2 and #3.

The GOP really is going for stupid these days.

In fairness, that's a pretty easy slip-up. She's said much dumber things than that.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

Republicans have introduced a bill in the Senate to reverse the price cuts for Medicare drugs that Biden signed last month.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

The argument is the drug companies must be guaranteed maximum profits for bog-standard drugs, or they will kill grandma by not bothering to develop that new cancer drug.

Assuming that the argument is true, so what? Most groundbreaking research has come out of the University system, with some exceptions from industry and government agencies, but most discoveries in basic science have been made by university researchers.

Most of the university discoveries are government based too, because it is the government stumping up the funds.

And, so, you're saying that the Tax & Spend ethos of Democrats can actually produce tangible, real-World benefits??

To be fair, the spend without taxing in blatant disregard for the deficit, GOP method can also lead to useful discovery.

We just look to the DoD for funding, instead of NSF or NIH.
