The Absurd GOP
RE: The Absurd GOP
Lauren Boebert Says the Second Coming of Jesus is Coming Soon

Boebert said during a speech to the Tennessee GOP, "We are in the last of the last days… you get to be a part of ushering in the second coming of Jesus."

"We know that we are in the last of the last days/ But it's not a time to complain about it. It's not a time to get upset about it. It's a time to know that you were called to be a part of these last days. You get to have a role in ushering in the second coming of Jesus."

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

RE: The Absurd GOP
Herschel Walker embodies every negative stereotype Black Americans have fought against for decades

For some Republicans, any warm body that can be used as a pawn is sufficient. The fact that Herschel Walker happens to be Black is an irony too delicious to resist for some voters who have chosen to rally behind one of the most unqualified political candidates in recent memory.

To some voters, Walker is that malleable warm body, ready to be used. His difficulty in articulating a comprehensive sentence, his documented history of violence, his obvious lack of understanding and his moral hypocrisy regarding abortion do not matter.

In a community that has fought against stereotypes of violence, criminality, intellectual inferiority and sexual promiscuity, Walker is an embarrassment.

Embarrassment was likely something Herschel Walker’s family was trying to escape. If his son's statement is true, Walker was discouraged from running for office because of his sordid past. Sadly, foolish actions by Black political leaders not only bring shame on immediate family members but to an entire race.

The idea of being judged by the worst examples in your community is not a burden with which most Americans are familiar. As a political leader, Walker would be a representative of the Black community by default, whether he intends to represent the community or not and whether the Black community wants it or not.

Idiot loudmouth Dennis Prager claims Secularists Have No Argument Against Incest "

https://www.salon.com/2022/10/13/right-w...t_partner/

https://www.comicsands.com/prager-adult-...49412.html

The flaws in reasoning are as followed

1. He dismisses the genetic argument by insisting it takes multiple generations to see ill effects. This is false of course in one generation you can see problems as pointed out here and even if it's a long-term problem it's still a problem if incest were normalized and consistently practiced among relatives on a society-wide basis. The moral wrong is neither short-term nor purely individual.

2. He insists only Judeo-Christianity has an answer for incest even though the bible is full of incest and Christianity did not stop incest in Christan societies nor were Christians the only religion/culture to have an issue with incest. So the notion that modern condemnations are mere relics of Christianity is simply not justified.

3. He insists that any Jew or Christain that doesn't subscribe to his narrow-minded ultra-literalist view of religion "isn't serious" as if you can't take religion seriously and disagree with him. For instance, he insists you can't be pro-cross-dressing and a Jew/Christain because Deuteronomy 22:5 says it's wrong while ignoring that some Jews/Christain interpret this as a condemnation of certain reasons for crossdressing rather than cross-dressing itself. He tries to insist Jews/Christain must have had a blanket condemnation of nudity despite Christain nudists existing and there being arguments that nudity is a question of intent rather than action. He also totally fails to establish these as default positions of leftism.

Overall a terrible argument from a simplistic and ignorant partisan blowhard

The idea that mere physical strength should be a decider of anything is borderline fascistic.

It's a natural aspect of survival of the fittest, but many people don't realize we have evolved past it. With our propensity for intelligence, it is the fit brain which is currently the future of our survival. Religion and conservative politics are the precise opposite of the healthy brain.
