No, as the circumstances aren't remotely the same. One was based on his campaign's shady dealings other is based on nothing at all and is simply revenge for their guy getting investigated for shady behavior. The brain rot of  bothsidesism strikes again.

Not saying he' s innocent.

By definition - "politician" - it' s mighty unlikely....
You can be impeached even if you are not convicted of a crime.

Impeachment is a political act that goes all the way back to Andrew Johnson. Basically, any elected or appointed federal official can be impeached at any time for any reason as long as the Congress "feels" that the official's actions meets the high crimes & misdemeanors standard.

Florida Congressman, Matt Gaetz, votes AGAINST a bill that would provide billions of dollars of disaster relief for his home state of Florida just days after Hurricane Ian destroyed cities and displaced hundreds of thousands of Floridians.

Only 10 Republicans voted for the measure, two days after a Category 4 hurricane barreled through Florida, killing dozens and causing billions in economic damage.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

It's delightfully ironic that the person Ron DeSantis needs most right now is Joe Biden.

In what universe, OLB...do you imagine that what floridians wanted, what they thought was representing them, is a sex trafficker who likes little girls that doesn't want florida to get more relief funds?

Gaetz doesn't represent even his own voting base. He cynically exploits his own voting base, and then abandons them just as he abandons his duties to the state, the law, and basic human decency. Just as you abandon any pretense that you aren't a fucking lunatic.

You know, I just don't get why people would vote for someone who openly acknowledges that they step on said people's cranks, on purpose. That's some real strange cognitive dissonance.  Huh
