So, for all the people who think that Trump's legal team refused to mount a defense so that Trump doesn't make an ass of himself, they released a video of a deposition that fulfills much the same purpose.
Highlights:
* Trump doubling down on the notorious "Grab them by the pussy" remark, claiming it's true and not just mere locker room talk.
* Trump insisting that E. Jean Carroll is "not [his] type" and then mistaking a photo of her for his ex-wife Marla Maples.
A sizable portion of my YouTube subscriptions are either BreadTubers or JCS-inspired True Crime YouTubers whose bread and butter is literally just taking shit like this (though more commonly interrogations than depositions) and commenting on exactly how the perp is digging themselves deeper with every answer they give. This is either the perfect material for a crossover (that said, I don't expect JCS et al. to release a video with someone like Shaun or Jose both providing commentary), or the perfect material to trip up YouTube's increasingly arbitrary content rules.

Florida lawmakers pass bill allowing radioactive material to be built into Florida roads
Conservation groups across the Southeast United States are urging Gov. DeSantis to veto a bill that would allow the use of radioactive fertilizer waste in road construction across the state.
The bill passed by legislators permits the use of toxic phosphogypsum in “demonstration” road projects in Florida. Critics said this is the first step in a phosphate industry push to eventually use the waste in roads nationwide.
The Environmental Protection Agency prohibits using the toxic phosphate waste in roadway construction because it poses an unacceptable risk to road construction workers, public health and the environment.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Texas lawmaker who suggested God is responsible for mall mass shooting wants more guns at shopping outlet
Freshman Republican Rep. Keith Self, 70, whose congressional district includes Allen, Texas, served in both the Army Special Forces and Army Rangers. A Christian nationalist, far-right extremist, and 2020 presidential election denier, Self was endorsed by twice-impeached and criminally-indicted ex-president Donald Trump, along with his disgraced ex-National Security Advisor Mike Flynn, also a far-right Christian nationalist, and a QAnon supporter.
Asked Monday morning if he knew why the gunman targeted that outlet mall, Rep. Self told Fox News,"I don't know, we can speculate on it."
"But I will tell you this: I believe the policy of that mall is a no-gun zone. So one of the things we've got to consider is not having these soft targets," he said, suggesting there should be more people there with guns. "I was in the military for 25 years and I will tell you soft targets are where criminals go."

'It Was Really Bad': Ex-Trump White House Press Secretary Details Harassment
Stephanie Grisham, who served as White House press secretary under Donald Trump, said she witnessed the then-president’s sexual harassment firsthand.
She told CNN that she had to try to protect one staffer in particular who Trump would request accompany him on trips.
“He one time had one of my other deputies bring her back so that they could look at her ass, is what he said to him,” Grisham said. “I sat down and talked to her at one point, asked her if she was uncomfortable. I tried everything I could to ensure she was never alone with him.”
“But with this one staffer, it was really bad, to the point that I was extremely uncomfortable,” she said, adding that all senior White House staffers at the time knew about the situation.
“I did everything I could to keep her off of trips actually, and to stay with her if she was with him alone because I was really nervous about what could happen,” Grisham added.

I see Santos is already mentioned in another topic but here are more details
Santos In Custody On 13 Federal Charges
Representative George Santos, the Republican whose pivotal victory in New York was soon followed by revelations that he had falsified his biography on the campaign trail, surrendered to the authorities at federal court on Long Island on Wednesday morning.
Mr. Santos was charged with seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, one count of theft of public funds, and two counts of making materially false statements to the House of Representatives.
The decision by federal prosecutors to take action against Mr. Santos marked a precipitous turn in the fortunes of a first-term congressman who went from a symbol of Republican resurgence to a scandal-plagued political punching bag.

GOP presidential candidate wants to unconstitutionally raise voting age to 25
Biotech millionaire and 2024 Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy this week proposed adding a constitutional amendment to raise the voting age from 18 to 25 unless citizens pass a civics test or enlist for six months of public service.
"We want to restore civic duty to the in, in the mindset of the next generation of Americans. And how we wanna do it is to say that if you wanna vote as an 18-year-old between the age of 18 and 25, you need to either do your civic duty through service to the country," Ramaswamy said aboard his campaign vehicle.
"That's six months of service in either military service or in a first responder, including police, fire, or otherwise. Or else you have to pass the same civics test that an immigrant has to pass in order to become a naturalized citizen who can vote in this country. At age 25, that falls away," Ramaswamy continued. "So in a nutshell, what we're proposing is a constitutional amendment to raise the voting age to 25."

This is certanly easier than to actually come up with ways to bring people to their ideas and policies because they don’t actually have policies or ideas that appeal to younger voters.

You are really stupid, Fake. Proposing a constitutional amendment is not unconstitutional. Both prohibition and its repeal were constitutional.

Trying to attach tests to voting rights has a long history of being shit on by the courts. It would take a repeal and an amendment to accomplish.
Or a couple clerics in on the bench, ofc. You're in a pretty rough spot when you think that your existential enemies are the people who you believe are demographically replacing you, and your own children.

There is even more crazy batshittery from Ramaswamy
Quote:Ramaswamy also wants to abolish the FBI, the IRS and the U.S. Department of Education. If elected president, he would halt affirmative action by executive order. Ramaswamy would use the U.S. military against drug cartels in Mexico, and he told The Tennessee Star that he wants to fire "at least half the federal workforce."
Ramaswamy told Axios, "We can take the America First agenda even further than Trump because we will do it from a moral foundation."
In a May 5 post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote, "I am pleased to see that Vivek Ramaswamy is doing so well in the most recent Republican Primary Poll, CBS YouGov. He is tied with Mike Pence, and seems to be on his way to catching Ron DeSanctimonious. The thing I like about Vivek is that he only has good things to say about 'President Trump,' and all that the Trump Administration has so successfully done — this is the reason he is doing so well. In any event, good luck to all of them, they will need it!"
