Your boss is not there to enforce your feelings, your boss is there to make sure you continue to be productive.

Your boss can and should absolutely put his foot down on bigotry in the workplace and thankfully most do . Once again it's easy not to be a dick at work and if you choose to be a dick at work and you lose your job for it that's on you.
