Although I have no issue with sex workers or people paying for sex, but I just never personally understood the need to pay for it. Yet, in a world of capitalism, it is also understandable that everything has a price.

“The record overwhelmingly suggests that Representative Gaetz had sex with multiple women" at a 2017 Florida party, "including the then-17-year-old, for which they were paid," according to a draft of the committee's report.

"Victim A recalled receiving $400 in cash from Representative Gaetz that evening, which she understood to be payment for sex," the report said. "At the time, she had just completed her junior year of high school."

That witness told the committee she had not informed Gaetz she was younger than 18, "nor did he ask her age," the committee reportedly found.

In a post on X, Gaetz last week said he had sent money to girlfriends and women he dated, “even some I never dated but who asked,” and acknowledged he "probably partied, womanized, drank and smoked more than I should have" when he was younger.

But, he insisted, “I NEVER had sexual contact with someone under 18. Any claim that I have would be destroyed in court − which is why no such claim was ever made in court."

On Monday, he asked a federal judge in Washington, D.C., to stop the Ethics Committee from releasing the report.

Of course he wants filthy subordinates. That way he not only knows they will acquiesce to any immoral or illegal orders, he will have dirt on them to make sure they do his bidding.

If i understand correctly he was accused of paying women for sex, and his defense was "none of them were underage!".

As far as politician sins go paying for sex is irrelevant I would say. Assuming that there wasn't anything else that would change how things looked.

My point was not that he paid for sex. Why did he feel compelled to make the comment about being underage? Me thinks the lady protesteth too much.

It's like decrying traditional marriage while simultaneously not batting at eyelash at one person's history of multiple marriages and divorces.

The fact that a one-time lawmaker spent a lot of time breaking the law, and then whining when he gets caught out on it, says a lot about what's wrong with us, firstly, that we knowingly hire hypocrites to run our country.
