Apparently Rhodes didn't think he was armed well enough for whatever he had planned™, even with the qrf stockpiling plan. He bought more kit on the drive in.

Not a single gun was confiscated on that day, but several rioters were charged with having firearms on Capitol grounds (and one for firing one) when they were arrested. I guess it was hard to confiscate their firearms before they were arrested. Important crime note: don't commit your crimes in front of cameras.

It's a mystery how Michael Byrd, who shot Ashli Babbet in the shoulder (who later died in the hospital) and lacked the X-Ray vision that otherwise would have informed him she was unarmed (except for the para-force folding knife in her pocket) and that there was no explosive device in her backpack, was found to be reasonably in accord with USCP policy and "potentially saved Members (of Congress) and staff from serious injury and possible death". /s

Probably because he was defending government processes and property against an assault.
They should have opened fire earlier. When Congress is being attacked in the middle of assessing an electoral count, that process ought to be defended by deadly force.

No matter how hard the magas try to memory hole J6, many of us saw with our own eyes how it started, unfolded, and ultimately went unpunished at the instigator level.
Babbit crossed a red line, got shot. PSGWSP.
I still don't know why the LEOs showed such restraint while under attack.
