It's not McConnell I grieve for; it's the rest of us. This offends me in the same way the death penalty does. I believe we are all diminished when any of us are treated this way. Enlightened, civilized people don't do this. Human civilization needs to rise above shit like this before we can move on.
The other problem is that this is clearly illegal. A man who is badly brain-damaged is in no way qualified to hold the office of a US senator and exercise the duties of such. He is nothing more than a puppet, no longer capable of independent thought. His vote should not count because it is not his. He is just a mouthpiece remotely controlled by the senate Republicans.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

How is it illegal? Politicians in every era and every place have been used as mouthpieces by more powerful politicians. It’s ethically wrong and morally repugnant, but it’s not illegal.
Why is being badly brain damaged a disqualification for holding this or any other political office? The US Constitution is pretty clear about the qualifications for federal office. He’s clearly unfit, but he not unqualified.

It appears you are correct. There is no medical fitness standard and there is nothing like the 25th Amendment which applies to the senate. He can only be removed by a 2/3 supermajority vote. The only requirements for a senator is an individual must be at least 30 years old, a U.S. citizen for at least nine years, and an inhabitant of the state they represent at the time of election.
I was thinking there must be a requirement that a senator must be capable of carrying out his/her duties but apparently not.

Sad, innit, that someone so ill and addlepated that he has to be told how to vote can’t be removed from the US Senate? Being told how to vote because you’re a corrupt cog in a corrupt machine is one thing, but this…

The relevant clause says, 'No person shall be a Senator...' and horses aren't legally persons.
It would be an interesting test case though. I imagine a defense could be mounted citing as precedent all the jackasses that have served in the US Senate.

All the usual suspects were dispatched to the weekend shows to say that the economy is great and inflation is low and job growth is high. That the American people love them and they will grow their majorities. That any Fox News poll to the contrary is part of the leftist plot to destroy America.
Clearly, the messaging is intended for an audience of one.
