Satanic verses

RE: Satanic verses
People have been looking at magic books version of events for some time compared to what we actually observe in the universe..and it's on that basis exactly that they've determined magic book to be full of shit. I'm not sure this is a genuine ask, or even a genuine defeater for your faith - as no amount of being proven wrong about what magic books says, or being shown what magic book got wrong, has ever caused you to abandon that article of your faith in any of your interactions on these boards.

Does it happen off scene, we just don't hear about it?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Mohammed -PBUH- couldn't read or write. It's about understanding the Quran; not just read it.

Time to break out the decoder ring! I mean, hey, we all know magic book got things right, but if it looks like it didn't get things right, then obviously we just need to better understand the hidden message..and if we did better understand the hidden message, we would see that it also got things factually right - and we were wrong about it not being right. That's why we can't believe our own goddamned lying eyes except when magic book says so.

I wonder why the Middle East didn't produce Kepler or Stephen Hawking or Einstein considering that people there are obsessed with Quran which has all these scientific facts about astrophysics. Instead, Stephen Hawking and Einstein didn't care for Quran but managed to discover all these things about the universe as if the Quran doesn't have any useful information about the universe and let alone astrophysics.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

1- If the two leaves are not sufficient for you, here's another ancient Quran dating to the late 9th to mid 10th-century:

Quote:The manuscript is thought to have contained 600 parchment folios made from sheepskin, which was commonly used because of the thinness of the finished product.

2-Not refuted.

1. The Sanas Cormaic dates from about the same period. This doesn’t make the miracles attributed to the author true.

2. Roundly, fully, and devastatingly refuted. Pigheaded, you are.

Odd. And, so, who wrote the Quran? I want the POV of a real, live Muslim as opposed to an Internet search.

The problem is this: there are "no" hidden messages in the Quran; there are only truths which aren't discovered yet.

For example, take a nomadic Arab from 1000 years ago, this verse would mean nothing to them:

Quote:Sura 21, The Quran:
https://quran.com/21?startingVerse=30

Are the disbelievers not aware that the heavens and the earth used to be joined together and that We ripped them apart, that We made every living thing from water? Will they not believe?

— Abdul Haleem

But to a modern human from nowadays, it will point directly to the Big Bang Theory. it will point directly to what we call "the explosion/ripping of singularity that gave birth to the universe".

No hidden truths; but "not discovered yet truths".

Let's see one then.  Everytime you make one of these threads someone invites you to present the next scientific miracle to be discovered in  magic book.

Quote:But to a modern human from nowadays, it will point directly to the Big Bang Theory. it will point directly to what we call "the explosion/ripping of singularity that gave birth to the universe".

You mean -to you-.  A motivated and committed islamist who spends some time mining magic book for retroactive scientific miracles.  If you haven't noticed, you're on a board full of modern humans from nowadays who don't see what you see. In case you were unaware, there are muslims who do not see what you see. Magic book isn't talking about the big bang there, you just don't know the first thing about the big bang - and so you can't realize how completely idiotic all of this is on it's own grounds.

RE: Satanic verses
The Big Bang was not an "explosion". I like those verses from the Quran that talk about the pillars that Allah uses to hold the sky up. (Did Muhammad believe in a flat Earth?)

It did produce people like him in the past, or did you forget that modern Chemistry and the Algorithm witnessed huge evolutions thanks to Muslim scientists?
