Literature allows a person to step back in time and learn about life on Earth from the ones who walked before us. Clearly not every person claiming to have availed himself of such opportunities benefited from it.

It's just crazy to say that anything is "the best" in literature. It's like saying that classic rock is better than bluegrass. Who's to say??
