Interestingly, when I had to read the Bible in Catholic school, it was a bowdlerized edition. All the naughty bits had been excised.

The first bit of the song of solomon reaches literal and allegorical climax in the woods. In contrast to using disturbing vocabulary, it employs then-euphemisms for some pretty x-rated stuff in a deeply committed relationship. God might be an incel, but his ghostwriters sure as shit weren't.

God didn’t use
any metaphors in the Bible. The metaphors were made by the
people who wrote the Bible, and they WERE ‘normal’ metaphors for the time and place.
Do you think someone is disturbed if they call you a son of a bitch (implying that your dad shagged a dog) or suggests that you eat shit and die? Ever called someone a scumbag (metaphor for a used condom)? That’s pretty fucking disturbed.

In the Early & High Middle Ages, to be known as a "bastard" was completely respectable ("Bastard of Orleans" or "William the Bastard"); refer to a nobleman as being "knightly" and he would probably punch you in the face.
