Why are 42.4% of Americans obese then?

I misunderstood your previous comment. I thought you meant ‘Many don’t know how to eat healthy.’

I agree that they don’t eat healthy. Mea culpa.

Well stated. (I can't live without ice cream, especially, with fudge topping!)

Eating healthy is subjective.

Doritos and Mountain Dew can be healthy to those of a certain genetic disposition.

In large part that's down to the profitability of food processing and employers demands on labor.  The poorer we are the less likely a gym is realistic and the more likely that we dollar tree for groceries, not just because it's cheap, but because more and more that's the only retailer in range...and that comes down to the dollar store business model. Essentially, pick a place a walmart would lose money, and ell even cheaper shit.

For the opq, I doubt anyone will ever top Pollan's Rule.  Eat food, not too much, mostly vegetables.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. Depression is also the reason for it. I think it falls down to people falling into despair. So in a sense if they have solved their mental baggages and have a goal and set that goal out. Its overall more easier to get out of that state then

I guess i sometimes makes jokes on how candy commercials are like smoke commercials from 50s and 60s. Even if smoking is probably way more dangerous in small doses than what candy or soda is. But i still find it funny sometimes

Depression, poor, what's the difference? Smoking probably isn't more dangerous on a societal scale. It would take me years and years to unpack all of the hinky shit we do with our food.

I wouldn't go so far as to call that healthy, though it may be less bad for some people than others.

It is one of the many ironies of the current era in World history that the poor (at least in the Western world) are now fat, whereas, centuries ago they were thin; opposite for the rich.
