Just maybe... God exists and I'm going to hell?

I'm convinced he doesn't exist but I was wondering what you all have to say about this weird guilt of mine of thinking that maybe, just maybe, God exists and I'll end up in hell when I die.

I ask honestly because I wanna get rid of these superstitious bullshit in my brain.

Just maybe one does. But it only begs the question. would it be the type that interacts with its subjects, or is an impersonal deity.  If its the judeo-christian god, he'd know what you believe no matter what you say. And if it's not that god, you may go to the hell of different god, which puts christians in the same position. Just remember, it's PEOPLE who put these ideas in your head, not the god they claim. Let me give you a quote from Thomas Jefferson. 
"...Question with boldness even the existence of a god, because if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear."

Perhaps you would like to make a thread in the introduction section so that we can get to know you.

In order to say that something 'may be' you need some evidence otherwise it's just an arbitrary notion that should be discarded.  God is said to be a supernatural consciousness that created everything that we see and experience.  What evidence is there that anything has ever been brought into existence by a supernatural consciousness?  What evidence is there that anything has ever been brought into existence by a consciousness of any kind?  There is none.  Zip, zero, nada.  So if you entertain such a notion as gods and hell, then you do so completely without evidence and you do so irrationally.  It might be time to see a psychologist to help you get rid of this fear.

Nah, don't call a shrink.  It's okay to believe in gods as long as you call it a personal preference and don't require others to conform to your personal preference.  You shouldn't need a shrink to tell you that.

Still seems, to me, like the issue of whether there’s a god or a hell to go to is a sideline. If a person thinks they might be going to hell, wouldn’t it be better to address whatever they’ve done that leads them to this worry?
