The recently passed Respect for Marriage Act is proof that the Republican Party is changing. Look for a nationwide codification of Roe v. Wade just after the new Congress is sworn and seated.
They voted for that only after losing a midterm, losing a presidential election and vastly underperformed in another midterm. And because voting against interracial marriage would hurt them even more, especially since they’re developing a bad reputation on racial issues. And because they sacrificed a tremendous amount of political capital overturning Roe v Wade. Overturn same sex marriage right after overturning abortion rights and republicans might inspire the democrats to keep them from having any political power for the next 50 years
Take out your crystal ball -- Do you think that Roe v. Wade will be codified come mid-January?

A Gallup poll just asked Trump supporters what they thought of the January 6th House Committee throwing the book at the former president.
Forty percent expressed outrage.
Sixty percent asked “What’s a book?”

I believe the polity is changing faster than the Republican Party, which means that demographics will kill them before they change their minds themselves. Admittedly cynical.

Doubtful. Republicans aren't willing to let that go; they know if they do they lose the support of the religious right. The moderates in the republican party are the ones who are saying that we shouldn't pass a law banning abortion nationwide (and when/if the get enough of a majority to do that, I don't doubt for a second they will).
The only way Roe v Wade gets codified is if democrats get enough of a majority in the house and the senate and they control the presidency. They can't count on any republicans supporting that; do you know any current republicans who are pro choice?

A significant portion of the american electorate is lost in the sauce.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Had, you mean. Shuttered in 2018, and I can see why. Their list of notables is full of people who are very publicly anti-abortion.

Again, 51% of the vote means 100% of the power. The Democrats need only peel off a handful of Republican votes to codify Roe v. Wade; the rest of the nuts can continue to remain nutty.

We all know we can count on Susan Collins, amiright?
Honestly, with the clerics on the court, I don't see that happening. They'll decide, as they have before, that the law is unconstitutional for reasons*. That's assuming we even get to that point, but that org shutting down and it's list of members becoming anti-abortion advocates just doesn't paint a picture of republican officials changing in the direction required for that to happen. They're all in, going the other way, at full speed. I blame Bill Clinton.

And, so, you think that a federal bill protecting abortion rights will be declared unconstitutional by SCOTUS?
