Just an old metalhead

That's cool. My other cousin, not this one, is a huge Maiden fan. He even has the eddie action figure.

I've been listening to black metal most of the time, so that's what's in my truck. Lately I've been listening to WATAIN, DISSECTION, NEVERMORE, ROTTING CHRIST, MELECHESH, IMMORTAL, BEHEMOTH, etc.

Hell yea Nevermore. I can't drive so I just listen to my stuff either on youtube or bandcamp. I also link up my phone to the stereo and listen to music while I cook or do house work. Yesterday I was in the mood for fantasy metal, so I played Iced Earth while bathing my doggos.

I was able to see ICED EARTH live, along with ARCH ENEMY and EVERGREY at the same club. That show was in '04, almost 20 years ago. Damn I feel old.

^Damn man! That's wicked cool. All the concerts I've been to was for local metal bands that make original music.

I've got a couple of CDs from OLD MANS CHILD, it's the band that Galder from DIMMU BORGIR has in his spare time, good stuff.

^ It was the 1st time I heard Melodic Black Metal. I really enjoyed it.

I went by my cousin again this Thursday to listen to music and rummage through his tape and some of his CDs:

Some titles he had from two of my favorite bands:

Very cool, a 6 string bass? If you like the more melodic genre of black/death metal, I can list a few bands to get you started. Here's a very short list, there's more if you want.
Hypocrisy
Dimmu Borgir
Opeth(nothing after the Watershed record, their newer stuff sucks)
Emperor
Immortal
Septic Flesh
This is a good place to start, let me know what you think.

He has some Opeth records. Will listen to them when we go there again.

I assuming you talking about this Immortal:

Currently listening to this album and I like it. I like how fast it is for a Black Metal album.

Yeah, that's the new record that came out a few weeks ago. This "version" of IMMORTAL consists of only one original member left in the band. The original vocalist and guitar player is doing his own thing now. The band is named after him, ABBATH. You should check them out, I really like his stuff. The original drummer, Horgh,is retired after playing in HYPOCRISY for a few years.
If your cousin has the OPETH record Black Water Park, listen to that one first, it will blow you away.
