In HS, we had to write and debug our own programs. Granted, 40 years ago and it was BASIC, so much smaller files, but the training was to follow the information-flow of your program. Today's programs probably require machine debugging, but there you are: don't you know how to use a debugger?
I hope FA isn't programming autopilot routines for a jetliner! Or maybe he already works for Boeing?

You didn’t bother to learn a basic skill for your chosen profession? I foresee a great future for you as a programmer.

FA is so doomed. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being "totally doomed," he's at 11.

Well, the FERIT University in Osijek. You think the universities teach skills that are useful to an average programmer? They don't. You can get a Bachelors degree in computer science without knowing how to use a debugger. But, at least my university, you cannot get a Bachelors Degree unless you know how to synthesize a PID regulator using analog electronics.

Not a good advert, then. Did they at least teach you how to build a thermionic-valve amplifier and be somewhat useful?

Never heard of thermonic-wave-amplifier.

I am a third-year computer science student. Have been for three years now, and it seems to me I will not finish it even this year. I have two courses left: Communication Skills and Basics of Automatic Control. Basics of Automatic Control is very difficult, probably the most difficult course in the entire curriculum.

You've been in your third year of a four year degree for three years?!? How many years did it take you to get through your first and second years?!?

I wrote "thermionic- valve amplifier". These designs are literally 80 years old. Are you unaware of them?
i loves me a tube amp. look it up one day when your homework load is lighter. Look up vacuum-tube amps. You'll thank me later. Google names like Jim Marshall, Leo Fender, Randall Smith, and so on.
Or maybe just look up thermionic-valve amplifiers and be done with it.

You can't be arsed to do your own work, or learn anything outside class time. You will never succeed at any professional level. ...and yet he is looking down on his university, claiming that the only goal having an exam is to be allowed to "the club" of engineers.
As an engineer (and employee) i only can say i am glad if FA is not going to graduate. Its people like him, who dont bother to do their work, who are forcing people like me to do their work for them. Its people like him who dont bother to get properly educated, so i find myelf explaining stuff to them over and over again, wasting even more time and money, with no hope of any result
...yet freeloaders like him get almost paid the same.
