Plausibility of ancient extraterrestrials
RE: Plausibility of ancient extraterrestrials
Mauro Biglino has made the claim that anyone who understands the Hebrew in the Torah would have to agree with his translation. Pretty strong claim

It's dawned on me that I'm no longer arguing for ancient aliens but instead for ancient mortal beings with flying machines that can turn on a dime

Elohim is the indelible stamp of old magic book gods lowly origin, as a member of a pantheon of gods in what was first a polytheistic, then henotheistic culture. I'm not familiar with whatever verse you have in mind, you'll have to tell me where to look.

On the surface though, the idea that gods rode around in flying machines is pretty mundane. Animal drawn chariots pulling the sun across the sky qualify. The Vimanas started out that way too, which we already discussed. Sort of running in the background of all that, is that you can get an idea of the actual time that any given myth was written by how they describe whatever machines they do. That's useful, since myths often set themselves in some sort of dreamtime before time.

I think a highly contextual understanding of the Torah as a whole would be necessary in order to assess whether or not Biglino's translation is accurate
If I could just point to particular verses I would. I'll do my best to listen to a shit ton of Biglino and then report back what parts of the Torah seem appropriate to look at

You cant point to individual verses, but you think this comes from an understanding of the torah as a whole? Whole of what....not all or any verses...so?

Biglino understands the Torah as a whole, not me. All I'm saying is that a holistic and thorough understanding of the Torah as a whole might be necessary to debunk Biglino.

But maybe not. Maybe we can pull out google translate and start translating some Hebrew and see that his claim (that any Hebrew speaker would agree with him) is not on firm ground

So you consider Daniken to be a fraud but you think Mauro Biglino is legit although he declared that his ideas are mostly based on the literary works of Daniken.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I'll happily denounce whatever he's gotten from von Daniken. I didn't know that Daniken spoke Hebrew and ghostwrote The Naked Bible
I think Biglino's translation can be assessed on its own merits. The fact that he likes von Daniken doesn't impact whether or not his translation is accurate

So he's a committed ancient aliens nutter? Figured.

Although we can't take a look at the Hebrew over yonder at the Vatican, I don't see any reason as to why the Church would've wanted Biglino to come out with his translation. The Church fired him as soon as they caught wind of it. The guy was willing to lose his job in order to come out with his controversial translation. He knew the Church wouldn't like his work.
