I can attest to the first one - blind people do not turn on their lights. I had a friend in Belfast who was completely blind. I went over to pick him up one evening, rang the bell and he yelled,  'Come in!'. I did so, all the lights were out, so I called out, 'Where are you?' 'I'm in the bathroom shaving, be right there.' Before I realized what I was saying, I said, 'Why the hell are you shaving in the dark??'
