Reminds me of a political cartoon from years ago. 

While American hostages were still being held in Iran, the SAS raided the Iranian embassy in London and rescued (I think) about 20 hostages. The cartoon showed Margaret Thatcher on the phone with President Carter and the caption, ‘Frightfully sorry, dear boy, but one simply does not lend out one’s commandos.’

Home from the grocery store and unloading the groceries in through the garage/hangout/smoking room. I smell skunk and figure the roadkill I tried to miss must not have been a squirrel or the scattered carcass of an armadillo. Then the other resident of the house comes out and lights up his pipe. Okay...not a skunk...the aroma of the devil's lettuce. Must be a good batch this time around. Where's that can of Febreeze?

Worked a twelve hour shift on insistence since the facility seemed so desperate. What ends up happening? One of the newbies ends up walking out because she can’t handle the overnight shift. I am so over giving in and agreeing to work extra hours. Never again!

The American have rejected your ideology . If progressivism were popular Bernie would have won 

Really let's see 

1.Poll after poll shows many progressive policies are very popular 

2. Bernie moved ideas that were fringe progressive idea's into the mainstream 

3. Progressives have done well in primaries

4. The most popular idea's don't always translate to election victories .So it says nothing of an ideology if someone doesn't  win 

5. Ideology isn't the sole thing people vote on 

6. I pretty sure all the Americans who are progressives didn't reject progressivism

7. If people accepted Trumpism  why are his approval ratings so low ?

It isn’t so much that progressivism been rejected as that it hasn’t yet been fully embraced. It’s also true that a lot of people won’t embrace it because of the associations. If you ask someone, ‘What do you think about AOC’s plan to make college more affordable?’ you’ll be met with hostility and charges of socialism. If you ask that same person, ‘What would you think of a GOP plan to make college tuition tax deductible?’, they’ll react positively.
