Are Google docs monitored? Does anyone know? 

It's not a big deal. I use them as a recycling draft to write my rp posts in. The draft is available offline but restricted sharing, only if I give someone a link. And yet, occasionally, I'll see a little green cursor appear indicating a visitor with access to edit. They never do anything and after a moment or so, they leave. So, it makes me wonder if Google has moderators(either people or auto/bots) scoping out the usage of Google docs.

You weren’t wrong. It was originally called ‘duck tape’ because it was made of a fabric called cotton duck, a heavy weight cloth similar to canvas. 

Either that, or it was used to hold ducks together. I can’t remember which.

For any creative activity, like writing or drafting, I use tools installed on my laptop. I store nothing in "the cloud"- which is just a fancy way to describe a bunch of servers all over the place. If I "publish", like this here post, I don't care about it being proprietary to me any longer.
