Canonically, 'The Lord Of The Rings' is a memoir written by hobbits. Throughout the book, there are several detailed descriptions of meals. So maybe the whole saga is just one of those recipe blogs where you have to read through a whole epic story just to get to the food bit.

I think I have figured out why the post office is so far behind - they count differently than the rest of us.

I took a package to the post office Wednesday early in the afternoon. I was told two things...it would take three days and it would be delivered on Monday.

I returned a garment for my wife recently through the post office because they would not accept personally delivered returns. The store was located a mere 5 blocks from the P.O. but it still took 3 days.

You should have went to a costume store, procured a postman's costume, and delivered the package yourself. Apart from the fact that that's probably a federal crime and in no way worth the risk, I'm surprised you didn't consider it as a way to process your return more quickly.
