I say a prayer, that I've written myself, every morning. I know it doesn't do anything. I don't care.

Of course it does something. Prayers always do something.

You make a good point, but actually it's not even doing that. My need to pray is insatiable. I would do nothing but pray if I could. I figured, "maybe if I just say this one prayer every day, that's all the praying I'll do", in an effort to curb my appetite for prayer, but no, I still want to pray all the time. it's actually pretty annoying.

My daughter said she and her husband were out for a walk this morning and one of the Halloween displays on the route had a figure laying in the yard reading a book....The title of the book was MAGA. She looked closer and it said, "Mothers Against Greg Abbott".

You can worship any God you want to worship, but my God is the best God. She has done such great things for me, and I can't imagine She would show the same kind of favoritism to people who do not believe in Her.

There seem to be a few new families with children moving into the neighborhood, here. We'll leave a bowl of candy at the gate,, since our dogs go bonkers when someone rings the doorbell or knocks on the front door. I'm seriously considering putting up a "no trespassing" sign on the gate. Not worried about the back door; that requires going through two gates, and if people haven't figured out that they are trespassing at that point, they are beyond hope. And liable for some pain, if they don't bag it when confronted.
