The whole concept of prayer is actually pretty clever - they gods will always grant you whatever you ask for. But when they don't, it's your fault for not asking in the right way. Sort of like believing that having a poo before you buy a lottery ticket increases your odds of winning. If you win $10, it works. If you don't, it's because you didn't poo properly.

I fucking hate Christianity so much. It enables goody two shoes assholes to make tons of money while doing little to no actual work. I wouldn't mind being on these assholes' pay roll, but I wouldn't speak for them. I would never speak for them.
