China and Russia's presidents -both- absent from the G20

Quote:Do you know how much high speed rail China has built in that time?
You think China's high-speed rail is good That's adorable. Just overlook the cheap construction and rushed methods of building that will in the long run come to bite China in the ass. I'll take rail that takes 30 years and is done right to thousands of miles done badly.

As with everything in China, it's all CCP hype made to look good for the camera and underneath is the ugly truth.

Biden is declaring a new World War; now we have 2 sides:

1-China & Russia on one end with their own economical road
2-America and its allies on the other end with their own economical road.

Traditionally World Wars begin with fewer announcements.  The first one began when Germany crossed into Belgium, unannounced.  The second one began when German crossed into Poland, unannounced.

China is and has always been only it's own side.
The Chinese have always considered themselves the Heavenly Kingdom.
They are not interested in Russia or anywhere else.
It will be interesting post Xi if they give a shit about anying or anyone else.
They have built beautiful gleaming cities in a few years. They don't need anyone else.

actually germany crossing into poland wasn’t exactly unanticipated.    The Germans made it abundantly clear to every one that’s where they will go next after absorbing the rest of Czechoslovakia.    there were all sorts of announcements from both sides further pointing the way, with the Nazis making a big propaganda push alleging gross mistreatment of ethnic germans in poland and in particular danzig, and the British and French giving security guarantees to Poland, and the Soviets approach Britain and France for a anti-german alliance, rebuffed, approaching Hitler for nonaggression pact.

the surprise wasn’t germany attacked poland, but just how quickly germany were able to overwhelm poland, and the fact that ideological mutural nemisis Nazi Germans and soviet Russia managed to come to something or an understanding.

They are not interested in Russia or anywhere else. They already have perfection.

They may have a combination of "freedom" and obligation that may be different, but god-damn, it works for them.

In that case you need to see this map and read the article:

China is clearly harassing its southern neighbors and its rhetoric according to which “The US is responsible for all the tension in the region” is very similar to the Russian rhetoric on almost any issue (like the Russian involvement in West-Africa for instance).
