The Shroud of Turin is a proven forgery (along with all other supposed shrouds of Jesus) Quote:After three separate tests in laboratories in Arizona, Oxford and Zurich, the scientists stated with 95 per cent confidence that the shroud dated from 1260-1390, (a date range which happened to include the first documented references to the cloth).
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

No examples of the shroud linen's complex herringbone twill weave date from the first century. The shroud has no known history prior to the mid-fourteenth century, when it turned up in the possession of a man who never explained how he had obtained the most holy relic in Christendom. The physique is unnaturally elongated (like figures in Gothic art), and there is a lack of wraparound distortions that would be expected if the cloth had enclosed an actual three-dimensional object like a human body. The hair hangs as for a standing, rather than reclining figure. The distinguished microanalyst Walter McCrone identified the "blood" as red ocher and vermilion tempera paint and concluded that the entire image had been painted. In 1988, the shroud cloth was radiocarbon dated by three different laboratories (at Zurich, Oxford, and the University of Arizona). The results were in close agreement and yield a date range of a.d. 1260-1390, about the time of the reported forger's confession (ca. a.d. 1355).
The most important part about claims like these, is the lack of any actual announcements. All we ever get is bullshit videos claiming the debunking of the science, but never any scientists making real claims in the real world and collecting their Nobel prize for actually proving the existence of the divine.

If the Shroud is genuine, why does the figure on it have long hair and European features?
If the Shroud is genuine, why are the 'blood' stains on it reddish-brown (old, dried blood is black)? If the Shroud is genuine, why aren't the wounds on the image consistent with actual crucifixion wounds? If the Shroud is genuine, why didn't anyone know about it until the 14th century? (Hint: The answer to all of these questions is the same.) Boru
