Then we have 9/11 and all your suicide bombings and beheadings.

You have more than your share.

Didn't the CIA proxy -Al-Qaeda- fall with no return ?
Their popularity is 0, and even the most extreme Muslim questions their deeds.

Real Muslims are builders of empires; people like Turkey's Erdogan.

Last thing though..9/11 has inside job written on its forehead. That event was the justification for Bush's crusade to rob the M.E out of its oil; remember ?

Yes dear,
Whatever you say dear.
Be sure the nurse knows where you are.
Almost time for your pills.

ETA: The thing is dear, they conquered Iraq, and didn't take "all the oil". What ... you missed Trump complaining about that for the last 6 years ?

To be fair they are kind of trying that just slowly .Though that doesn't justify mass slaughter.

But what would be the outcome of such an event?

Al-Qaeda stopped being aligned with the CIA after the war

There popularity as of 2023 is 35% across 20 Muslim majority countries

And committee horrific atrocities (Again Syria)

Quote:The information gathered provides damning evidence of indiscriminate attacks in residential areas, including attacks on a home, a bakery and a school, carried out by Turkey and allied Syrian armed groups. It also reveals gruesome details of a summary killing in cold blood of a prominent Syrian-Kurdish female politician, Hevrin Khalaf, by members of Ahrar Al-Sharqiya, part of the Syrian National Army, a coalition of Syrian armed groups equipped and supported by Turkey.

What's the difference between Turkey and Israeli?

I believe it would spark a war between Israel and most of the middle east as it would be seen as a step to far.It would shatter whatever goodwill Israeli has tried to broker with it's neighbours. It would embolden Iran and put the west in very awkward position.

Do you think the various ME countries would really engage in a a war with Israel, and most likely the US?
Or would, if done now and done quickly, be pretty much a fait accompli?

Perhaps they are thinking that goodwill can always be regained over time, but so long as Gaza exists (and Hamas exists with its goals) then Israel can never be safe from such attacks, and if they ever got WMD then that would be catastrophic. Maybe they have calculated that this is the best road to peace on at least one of its borders.

Always and forever with that nonsense, lol. The US didn't need ME oil, and made more cash servicing the oil industry for murderous despots than we make by overthrowing them. Not by a little, by a lot.

The US broadened it's war because a proportionate response to an act of terrorism was believed by the administration to be too weak a signal to deter future aggression. That's it, that's all. To make our response as disproportionate as possible with as little justification as possible as a demonstration of how far we could, and would go, if anyone else got a similar idea. We can certainly wonder about all of the little side hustles and grudges that glommed onto that decision - but that is why it was made. A decision that petty is what so many people died for. Nothing quite as grand or motivational as some oil ct.

Israel appears to be making a similar choice at present.

A war that the Arab countries would actually win.

A humanitarian catastrophe if they actually tried to carry it through ... but I doubt they will. Americans won't want to finance ethnic cleansing, and Israel won't want to risk $3b/yr in funding.

Do i think they would engage with Israeli and hope the US current malaise about foreign wars keep them out of it. Of course America won't they will stand up and tell both sides to knock it off. They would likely sanction Israeli Then sanction Iran harder and pressure the rest of the west to do the same. So it would end but with a huge death toll and a massive humanitarian crisis no one is ready to handle

I don't Israeli would quickly take Gaza they would face stiff resistance

Gaza is simply the hornets nest Israeli should not poke to hard. Leaving it is a risk but poking it to hard is a receipt for disaster.

Fair enough.
If so, there seems no realistic way out of this situation either now or for a generation or two, or until a truly horrific terrorist attack occurs.
