I guess it depends on the religion, right? I mean - you say gods a dick, so a dick god with a dick religion won't make the world less dickish. Kindof a default scenario, huh?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

There’s a story (probably apocryphal) of a Maori dealing with a Christian missionary. The native explains that their gods are vengeful and need to be placated with rituals. The missionary says that’s all the more reason to convert - the god of the Christians is a good god.
The Maori laughs and says, ‘What’s the point of praying to him, then? If he’s truly good, he’s not going to do anything bad to you.’

The world would still suck without religion.
But would you.

Go to the pediatric ward, and see the cute little 7 year olds,
dressed as little grey mousies, their long tails dragging behind them, pushing their IV chemo poles down the hall, doing "trick and treat".

There's an entrance in a Kiwi family's bible, one of those with a family tree in it, in which a family member, a missionary, went to the East Cape in the early 1800s and disappeared.
He is listed as, "probably eaten by Maori".
THAT'S how you deal with missionaries!

Teaching evolution seems far more effective.
No? Teaching them evolution will just make them adopt secularism/social darwinism as their religion.
How are you defining "secularism"?
If you are defining it in most widely used definition (Secularism is the principle of seeking to conduct human affairs based on naturalistic considerations, uninvolved with religion), please tell us why that is a bad thing?
Social Darwinism is not really a thing anymore. It is highly criticized, and completely misunderstands parts of evolution, specifically, the concept of "survival of the fittest".
And, finally, neither secularism nor social Darwinism, are religions.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

I imagine eating missionaries causes serious stomach issues, yes.
