It doesn't surprise me at all that they have no understanding how an artist might feel about their creations. To jerks like this, creativity is the simple act of clicking on the "generate" key. To a songwriter and writer like myself, what I've created is a part of me, and I am the one who should profit from my works. (January 26, 2024 at 7:04 pm)A. I heard the few second snippet they played on the radio today as part of the story and that was more than enough for me. If I want to hear some Carlin, I have a collection of his stuff on CDs...yes, kids, CDs.

In the 70s when Carlin's comedy was all the rage, kids my age felt like we were getting away with murder listening to his irreverent, deliberately juvenile bits. I doubt I'd get a lot out of hearing his old stuff again, to say nothing of hearing some AI-generated facsimile.
