RE: The World's Transition to Renewable Energies
Reminds me of Solaris.
It may be alive, but communication is far from possible and may get a bit gaslighty.

RE: The World's Transition to Renewable Energies
That’s an originally Soviet movie right? I’ve found the 2002 version and I will see it when I have time.

I the meantime, Hollywood is burning. People are still talking about climate change as a future possibility. On a personal level, I thin I am observing the gradual shift of our planet into a more different environment at least since the late 90’s. Even then there were these heatwaves, floods and large fires that were designated as “not normal”. Now it is sort of becoming the new normal.

And Mr. Trump (a climate change denier) is now saying that he wants Greenland. That because he hopes to find new mineral in the arctic after the ice melts down completely and he wants more control over the north-sea trade route (that will also mean a lot to Russia and China).

So Trump + world powers know exactly what is happening but they are refusing to admit it because they don’t want to.

So if we are the “conscious” element in all of this, aren’t we a little too unconscious?

Of course human action and the evolution of our ways of consumption will play a crucial role. But I like to think that if the planet had no consciousness at all, we would have annihilated ourselves already. A bit like Adam Smith’s “invisible hand” if you like. Smile

Donald says he wants greenland because pappy has dementia. Thinking there's more to it is basically numerolgy.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Some say he does that to attract and keep attention focused on him.

I am also hopeful that even republicans will now start to understand the truth about climate change.

From here it looks like and small scale A-bomb has been dropped on L.A. Sad

If you're talking about republican representatives..they already know.

RE: The World's Transition to Renewable Energies
Our current economic system has also its weird ways of functioning. There is something called “White Hydrogen”. It was already in use in some vehicles and even in the space industry back in the late 90’s. And there are deposits of H2 molecules right under our feet, in large amount and it is present in most countries (see video + article below). We can get is as easily as we are getting natural gas.

The problem is (if I am reading this correctly) is that our economies need time to adapt to this new way of producing energy. + It seems to me that powerful oil lobbies are delaying this transition just like tobacco lobbies producing fake science to claim that their product is completely harmless.

This means that if the Germans had won WWII or if the Soviets were still around, we would have stopped digging oil and gas and coal already. Sad

Our economy has already adapted. Even with subsidies...alternatives are more economical than fossil fuels. No one is building coal plants...and the only people building lng plants are the ones demanding the government make it law that their product is purchased regardless of the economic reality.

Imagine if we were still out there killing whales for lamp oil by federal decree. That's what they want. They want it so bad that they've successfully made it a part of our climate change reduction plans. The us plan to get to global net zero is to export more of our fossil fuels.

RE: The World's Transition to Renewable Energies
I still have my conspiracy theories on this issue. Here is another long video file. You just skip to 11:00

I was a skinny teenager when I first learned about this. The typical Hydrogen or clean energy model is a bit complicated. You have to produce Hydrogen through nuclear and solar energy. There are issues in carrying / storing this energy. And it’s complicated to adapt industries, cars and housing block to this new type of energy.

So the right-wing of the Republican Party is right. First of all who pays for all of these efforts? Isn’t it easier to “drill baby drill?”

- Hydrogen is sitting right beneath of feet at least since the 1990’s (there is a whole village in Mali that generates its electricity with geological Hydrogen since 1987 (see last YouTube video).

As you said: It’s just like the tobacco industry who kept paying actors to smoke their cigarettes and then tried to make Gen-Z’ers electronic cigarette addicts just to keep filling their pockets…

If it were easier to drill baby drill we'd be drill baby drilling. We already produce more fossil fuels than any country on earth now or ever. Even so..the vast majority of us leases and rigs are idle because it doesn't make financial sense to run them. There is no domestic market for the product. What they've been doing is abandoning wells and leases and selling off assets in an attempt to avoid the costs of cleanup.

They're sitting on a glut of product, looking at that glut getting even bigger as alternatives capture market share, and all of this shit they sell to the fauxpulist base about oil companies drilling trickling down on the poors is utter horseshit. They want assurances that the us and our allies will be legally compelled to purchase their unwanted products. Call it national security. Call it making america great again. Call it building back better. Call it climate change mitigation..ffs...and they do. Whatever they have to say to get the thing they refuse to say..they're gonna say it.

Meanwhile, they have allies in all sorts of other robber barron and reich wing culture warrior camps. People who see this not as any imaginary benefit to the public, or solution to a non existent crisis of available leases..but as a way to destroy this or that federal agency from within.
