If you're playing on your computer, you might try something like joytokey which maps the joystick buttons to key presses.

It also worked fine with the original 90s CD-ROM version I had before it (CD, not the joystick) went bad. The Logitech 'stick is good. In that case, use the "contact us" link for the website and ask them to provide compatibility standards. They will be the experts on what their software supports. The games are at websites and you play them on the website while you are on the websites. But every website only gives you instructions with the keyboard, it doesn't tell you if you can use a usb joystick. Those are old sites, doesn't look like much action on them. Good news though. I bought an Retron 77 atari unit. It plays all the 2600 cartridges. I bought it with 80 used game cartriges at a game store. All the major games I wanted to work did. I now have the Atari Berzerk, not the arcade though. I also have Donkey Kong, Defender, Missile Command, Pack Man, Ms Pack Man, Frogger, and a couple of others out of that 80 I didn't know of, but space alien type shooting games, that I do like. And while the manufacture game console came with a modern joystick, the store gave me a classic real joystick from the 1980s, and that is far more durable. I am really a happy camper right now. The console with the 80 games was $325 plus tax.
Shit. You can get an XBOX for that price.

I suck at everything else. Plus I like the look and feel of the old games. Really simple to play by comparison.
Be careful with those old plastics... They tend to snap easily.
And enjoy! I am not a gamer but spent some time with Duck Hunt and Tetris when my son was young...that's more my speed. He now has a setup with multiple monitors and headsets and his game room looks like some sort of bad guy control room out of a movie. Enjoy! Games (all sorts) are supposed to be fun, play what suits YOU. Enjoy!! Boru

For someone who was uncoordinated at everything, sports, couldn't do music. Atari had a few games that didn't make me feel like a compete loser. |
