Trump, 79, Delivers Deranged Threat to TV Networks in Yuletide Meltdown

President Donald Trump has entered into the Christmas spirit of peace on Earth and goodwill to all by threatening to terminate the TV networks that don’t praise him.

The fuming president launched one of his frequent tirades against American TV networks, claiming they were against him.

“If Network NEWSCASTS, and their Late Night Shows, are almost 100% Negative to President Donald J. Trump, MAGA, and the Republican Party, shouldn’t their very valuable Broadcast Licenses be terminated?” Trump posted on Tuesday. He then answered his own question: “I say, YES!”

Trump has seemingly been emboldened to threaten networks after his hand-picked FCC chief, Brendan Carr, got involved in taking Jimmy Kimmel Live! off air for a week in September.

While the FCC cannot cancel broadcasting licenses for major TV networks such as ABC, CBS, and NBC, it can control their local affiliate stations, which is how Carr attempted to cancel Trump foe Kimmel, resulting in only a brief suspension.

It wasn’t just news networks that bothered Trump on Christmas Eve.

Fresh from promoting his own pre-recorded appearance “hosting” the Kennedy Center Honors on CBS on Tuesday night, the president was triggered by his regular comedy arch-enemy, Stephen Colbert.

Trump still found time to fire off a bizarre demand for CBS to euthanize the 61-year-old’s late-night show before his contract ends in May.

Claiming Colbert was “left out to dry” after a termination by CBS that Trump celebrated, the president repeated his trusty insult about failing ratings.

Trump has teased the threat of stripping TV licenses several times this year, citing unfair coverage.

In the days after Kimmel’s show was suspended, he claimed that “97 percent” of the networks are against him.

In a document circulated recently to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Department, the administration says it wants to denaturalize 100 to 200 people per month in 2026. It also says USCIS should work with the Department of Justice to meet that quota. NPR hasn't seen the document, which was first obtained by The New York Times. USCIS spokesman Matthew J. Tragesser told NPR that the goal is to prioritize the denaturalization of people who have been found lying or misrepresenting themselves in the naturalization process. Now, the Trump administration wanting to denaturalize people is not new. Establishing a quota is.

During Trump's first administration, about 170 denaturalization cases were sent to court. That's according to an analysis conducted by researchers at Hofstra University's National Immigration Forum. (NewsNation) — A “South Park” writer anticipated President Donald Trump would rename the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts after himself, so he bought domain names connected to the Trump-Kennedy Center.

Writer Toby Morton told The Washington Post that in August, he bought the “trumpkennedycenter.org” and “trumpkennedycenter.com” domains.

“As soon as Trump began gutting the Kennedy Center board earlier this year, I thought, ‘Yep, that name’s going on the building,’” Morton told the Post.

The writer, whose credits also include “MadTV,” buys political domains and turns them into satirical websites as a form of activism, The Post reported.

Morton said he was paying attention to news that the president would take over the performing arts center after removing existing board members, installing close Trump allies and hosting the Kennedy Center Honors as a satirical protest to raise awareness.

“The rest followed on schedule,” he told The Washington Post.

Morton told USA Today on Sunday that “both domains are currently parked through GoDaddy.”

The writer said once news broke that he bought the domain names, he received responses that were “overwhelmingly positive.”

“I’ve received a large number of messages from creatives, writers, designers, and performers offering to contribute and help elevate what comes next,” he told USA Today.

He added, “That enthusiasm is shaping the direction of the upcoming site, which will focus squarely on Trump’s narcissism, branding impulses, and the broader cultural implications of attaching his name to institutions that were meant to be civic, not personal.”
