You don't always remember your dreams

You don't always remember your dreams
But when you do, share them here.

This morning, upon an index finger pressure point applied to my lower back, a supposed doctor diagnosed me with possible cancer.

Dreamt we came home and our sitting room was full of badgers. Didn't seem strange during the dream, but waking up was a wtf moment.

RE: You don't always remember your dreams
Two nights ago I had a nightmare that I was still at work and responsible for publishing a report about a new concept that I had no understanding of. Probably the mushrooms in the soup we had for dinner. Woke up sweating.

I dreamt I was asleep at work and trying to wake myself up. Pinching my arm, splashing water on my face. Finally I tried opening my eyes with my fingers. That 'worked', I dreamt I woke up from sleeping at work.

RE: You don't always remember your dreams
When I was pretty young I had a recurring nightmare that is still so vivid. I was probably 7-9 when this was happening regularly. It was so bad that I would wake up convinced there was a skunk on one side of me and a snake on the other side. If I was to move...well, you know...I would either get sprayed or bitten or both. I would lay as still as I could and try to move my eyes enough to see if they were still there. Sometimes this would go on for an hour.

If Freud were to analyze it, I think he would say that one represented my mother and the other my father.

These days I seldom remember dreams but when I do they are never pleasant ones.

My current mental struggles combined with insomnia have kept me from a full sleep for some time

RE: You don't always remember your dreams
I almost never remember my dreams. I might occasionally remember the end of a dream when I wake up, but a moment later it's gone. The better sleep I get, the more likely I am to remember that I dreamed at all. Most nights I get enough sleep, but I wake up two or three times and I don't think I get a lot of really deep sleep.

I haven't had a nightmare since I was a young child, and the only one I remember wasn't really a nightmare... more like a jump scare.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

I typically don't remember details but know most involve anxiety at some level.

RE: You don't always remember your dreams
This morning I kept falling asleep and waking up over and over. I needed to put stocking stuffers in bags today, but I was worried that the bags I had purchased weren't large enough. I had some large cloth Santa sacks from previous Christmases in storage, so I had a backup plan, but I kept dreaming that something was wrong with the Santa sacks each time I fell back asleep. Either I couldn't find them, or moths had eaten them, or I had only kept two instead of three, or something equally problematic. I finally got up for good and checked the bags which I had bought, and indeed they were too small. I found the Santa sacks, and they hadn't been eaten by moths or anything, but I still had hopes of getting paper Christmas-themed bags, particularly because I'd used the Santa sacks before and didn't want to repeat myself. So I check the weather. It's raining. Check the radar map and it's only going to get worse. So I grabbed my umbrella, cart, and stuff to protect any Christmas bags from the rain and headed to the dollar store. I got to the dollar store and all the Christmas stuff was gone, replaced by Valentine's Day stuff. Crestfallen, I shuffled over to Target with slim hopes. I came to the last aisle of the Christmas remnants, and there they had Santa-themed jumbo paper gift bags! I was so lucky. But the morning nightmares were a real damper this morning.
