Oh, bullshit. My great-grandmother was Blackfeet native. I am myself 1/8. She wasn't an immigrant. She was born here after our Piegan people had been here for millennia.

My mother's side of the family have been in the US since the 1650s. While not Native American, I would think in nearly 400 years we have worn out the immigrant label.

Right, my argument is not "whose people were here first", my argument is with those who would use birthplace and heritage as yet another divider. Born here -- native, no matter your ethnicity. Not born here -- immigrant, but who fuckin' cares? You're still native Earthian, and that is what matters.

Being 7/8ths Euroamerican, and almost 60 years old, I've had a bit of time to think about this. My bottom line is that I do not trust people who prefer building walls instead of bridges.

Bullshit. If you were born in USA then you aren't immigrant. Shouldn't be a concept that is hard to grasp.

Also, racial theories like the theory of the great replacement (that motivates some MAGA supporters) is also a lie. As humans we have some geographical adaptation to the climate and geography in which we live, but genetically speaking, we are more or less the same.

Let me put this more clearly: D. Trump is exploiting the differences within American society. The more these “conservatives” and “liberals” confront each other like this the more points he gets.
 
He is the one who put ICE in the streets of Minnesota. Does he really need to provoke Minnesotans like this? (In a country that has already had an episode of civil war?).

Ever heard of a concept of using terror to tighten control over populace? It's exactly what trump attempts to do.

I don’t disagree in theory. My point is that a code of conduct is useless if people don’t adhere to it. An appropriate example is Donald Trump. He is under a code of conduct to ‘preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America’, yet he seems to delight in trampling all over it.

Another Fuck Up By ICE (non-lethal)

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents attempted to enter the Ecuadorian consulate in Minneapolis on Tuesday, prompting the country’s minister of foreign affairs to file a protest with the U.S. Embassy in Ecuador.

A video of the incident was posted online. It shows staff inside the consulate rushing to the door to prevent the agents from entering. “Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey!” one man exclaimed. “This is the Ecuadorian consulate. You’re not allowed to enter.”

The Vienna Convention on Consular Relations – to which the U.S. is a party – , “The authorities of the receiving State shall not enter that part of the consular premises which is used exclusively for the purpose of the work of the consular post except with the consent of the head of the consular post or of his designee or of the head of the diplomatic mission of the sending State.”

The level of training these guys get is astonishing.

Top White House aide Stephen Miller said on Tuesday that agents in Minneapolis “may not have been following” proper protocol when they shot Alex Pretti, marking a stunning shift away from administration officials’ previous statements on the shooting.

“The White House provided clear guidance to DHS that the extra personnel that had been sent to Minnesota for force protection should be used for conducting fugitive operations to create a physical barrier between the arrest teams and the disruptors,” said Miller in a statement to CNN. “We are evaluating why the CBP team may not have been following that protocol.”
