50 Reasons to be Ashamed of Jesus

Yeah...he's quite a scumbag.
Steve Wells does awesome work deconstructing scripture. He made reading the Bible bearable for me.
Atheist Forums Hall of Shame:
"The trinity can be equated to having your cake and eating it too." ... -Lucent, trying to defend the Trinity concept "(Yahweh's) actions are good because (Yahweh) is the ultimate standard of goodness. That’s not begging the question" ... -Statler Waldorf, Christian apologist RE: 50 Reasons to be Ashamed of Jesus

What's a bigger disgrace to humanity, that a small handful of its members should be crazed hypocritical self-styled son or favorite of "god", or that a full one forth of its members would call one such disgrace "lord", and another fifth of its members would call another such disgrace "prophet"?
Quote: I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. Matthew 10:35-36 Sadly, this is the only prophecy in the bible which has ever come true. Not something to be proud of for Christianity.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

I think the biggest disgrace of all is that such people believe they are humanity. They believe they have a monopoly on being humane, though that which they think is humane is actually atrocious, in many cases. In other words, their hubris is the biggest disgrace. Why sort them out in categories? They are all embarrassing. RE: 50 Reasons to be Ashamed of Jesus

He sounds like Fred Phelps.
If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71.
Add to this list of 50 the most barbaric, destructive and stagnating belief system I can think of. Christianity has been the worst disaster humanity has ever suffered. It has played a part in the fall of Rome, the thousand years of the Dark Ages, Crusades, Inquisitions, witch burnings and destructive spin off religions like Islam. Humanity has only been able to progress as Christianity's power has been contained. Even now, Christian leaders stand in the way of seemingly every step of sociological and technological progress.
If Jesus is a divine being as Christians allege, he has watched all of this unfold in his name for the last 2000 years and done nothing to stop any of it. He is, at best, criminally negligent and, at worst, tacitly approving all that has transpired. If Jesus does appear on the 21st, I will have no trouble concluding that he is the least fit being in the universe to stand in judgment of anyone. It is he who should beg our forgiveness, not the other way around.
