Natural Selection Seems Insufficient
RE: Natural Selection Seems Insufficient
Ok shall we discuss child sacrifices? I assume you want to discuss Abraham?

Or tell me what you want to discuss.

So, in addition to everything else, this clown has to deny the existence of bumblebees.

Do you often invoke Bronze Age Canaanite deities who enjoy child sacrifices when something sticks to your fridge? Is that your definition of sanity?

Do you often change the subject when you don't like what is being said?

Not at all. Don't you know where your god comes from? What Abraham and Isaac were doing on that wholesome father-son outing? That your Lord God had asked him to take his firstborn whelp up to the top of the sacred hill, lay him upon the altar, grasp the sacrificial knife firmly, and cut him open from gorget to groin?

Could you define "tangible" for me? You appear to be confused.

I've never been asked to give a formal definition. Let me give it a whirl:

Matter is a piece of visible reality describable in terms of volume, density, mass, shape, size, and location.

Why these blatant lies? Is it due to insecurity about your own beliefs?

Awesome! You've defined matter. Poorly and incorrectly, but you've defined it. Unsurprisingly, gravity isn't matter.

Try defining "tangible".

Bumblebees are affected by forces that are intangible to us. Bumblebees are tangible. Your principle denies that they are thus affected. You deny bumblebees.

He doesn't seem to know what "tangible" means. I think that he's confusing gravity for rocks. Maybe we've finally found an Intelligent Falling proponent to keep the Flerf and the Creationist from getting lonely.

Oh I see you do want to discuss Abraham. Weird of you to introduce Abraham at a juncture in the debate over gravity - but fine by me. Let's discuss.

Did you read my theodicy summarized in one of the early posts? Traditional theodicy is idiocy. You really need to read my version if you're challenging me to a defense of Yahweh.

But I'll mention some of those points here, and extrapolate to show you how it all applies to Abraham.

1. Paul says that we all sinned in Adam. This can only mean that you ARE Adam. Each of us is a small piece of his sin-stained material soul. Yahweh opted to subdivide it after his fall into sin. None of can remember that time in the Garden, but we were all there as one material mind.
2. Therefore, no child is born innocent. Everyone deserves death and hell, by Original Sin. Although I don't believe in everlasting hell (I am an annihilationist).
3. God has one rule for Himself and for all persons, obedience to conscience. As a result, all of us have the command "love your neighbor" stamped on our heart/ conscience.
4. But  following His OWN conscience, God seems Himself as both our father and our judge. As judge, HE can decide whether to kill a sinner.
5. God commanded the prophet Abraham to kill his own son Isaac. But why should Abraham disobey his conscience? When speaking to prophets, the divine Voice speaks at the level of 100% certainty.  Abraham, therefore, suddenly became 100% certain that killing his son was of the highest moral urgency and virtue. In a nutshell, God MODIFIED his conscience (temporarily).

Formally, I define the "rule of conscience" as such (this is the only possible definition of  upright/ righteous/ moral behavior).

"If you feel certain that action-A is evil, and action-B is good, you should opt for B"

For many scenarios, you don't even need 100% certainty - just enough certainty to quiet any protests from your conscience. But when it came to killing his own son, I am confident that Abraham's conscience needed 100% certainty.

What forces am I denying? As I said probably 10 times on this thread, the physical hand of God enacts the so-called "forces" (electricity, gravity, magnetism, etc)
