If I'm not mistaken, the field is almost cleared out:

Trump: Imploded
Gingrich: "It's not over. Really, it's not"
Huckabee: God told him not to run
Palin: Even Ailes officially think she's an idiot.
Daniels: Announced he's not running

Looks like Romney might have a shot... at the nomination anyway.

Au contraire. The stamp of disapproval from The Roger Ailes distinctly means she's done.

However, I agree that just being an idiot doesn't disqualify a Republican. It's in fact a requirement.

We had a huge party here at my place this past weekend. I may have indulged a bit much, but I swear I heard some talking head on TV say that Michelle Bachmann was intending to run.

If you like Palin, you'll love Bachmann.

I hate to say it, but yeah. Probably.

The thing is, Republicans do suck. Everything they propose is geared towards shifting all the wealth towards business and the elite, always at the expense of us poor, unwashed masses. Take for instance this new Medicare bullshit proposed by Paul Ryan. He wants to give seniors vouchers to buy private insurance plans, and of course he claims it'll save everyone tons of money. Sure it will, uh-huh. As soon as such a mandate goes into effect, the insurance industry will raise rates. Just like they did when insurance on your vehicles became mandatory and just like Anthem Blue Cross raised rates here in California in the face of the Affordable Care Act.

We'll just let our retirees choose between food and health care. They die off either way and then we'll really save some bucks.

Watch who you are calling poor and unwashed! Angry

That said, I hardly need the money (I have Master of Orion... what more could I want?).

I'm not exactly poor or unwashed, but I do have four kids to get through college, one of whom begins her freshman year at a state U this fall... and if you're not familiar with the local (Calif) news, the state university where she was accepted will cost us an estimated $15,000 a semester. Since neither the spouse or I intend on forcing our kids to support us in our old age, I'm going to need Social Security and Medicare.

So I don't appreciate the Republicans dicking around with it.

How else do Democrats ever get elected?
