Depends on what you mean by overrated though. I don't believe their influence on the genre is overrated, even though there were other bands that certainly also contributed to the birth of metal. However, their musicianship is greatly overrated, every beginner guitarists starts off playing Sabbath, and yet I still see Tony’s name coming up on great guitarist polls.

So what if their music is easy to play? I don't think that takes away from how great a band they are.

Nope. The music isn't artistic at all and is terrible.

I have no issue with simple music, I still listen to Sabbath, usually with Dio instead of Ozzy though. I just don't like it when people act like they were good musicians, they were not. That's all. They are still a good group.
