I don't believe their influence on the genre is overrated, even though there were other bands that certainly also contributed to the birth of metal. However, their musicianship is greatly overrated, every beginner guitarists starts off playing Sabbath, and yet I still see Tony’s name coming up on great guitarist polls. So what if their music is easy to play? I don't think that takes away from how great a band they are. Music like many things is about taste, and I get it if others think they aren't that good. But I don't think you can call one of the greatest rock bands ever to exist overrated (August 5, 2011 at 5:23 pm)Napoleon Wrote:(August 5, 2011 at 5:14 pm)Statler Waldorf Wrote: Depends on what you mean by overrated though. The music isn't artistic at all and is terrible. I have no issue with simple music, I still listen to Sabbath, usually with Dio instead of Ozzy though. I just don't like it when people act like they were good musicians, they were not. That's all. They are still a good group. |
