Look, I will repeat my self. I dont believe in the quran or the bible. I just cut out bits and pieces that I believe they got right. Like love your enemies. But I would SD that sometimes fighting them is what they need as long ad you dont let your anger overcome you. So the things you don't like, I don't like either. I use my reason and experiences to uncover God. Not my tradition. To me its obvious that brig born into something doesn't mean its true. So let me get this straight ... this is how I translate your post. Let me know if I'm incorrect:

You don't believe in the Bible .... but you live by bits and pieces of it.
The Bible commands you to love your enemies - which is one of the parts you agree with ... but sometimes you have to fight them (without getting angry of course).
God is revealed to you through both your experiences and reason. (I'd be curious to know how you define reason)
You're thankful for science and it's ability to provide you with medication for schizophrenia, which keeps you well. But then follow that up with ...
You ultimately thank god for everything ... and you thank people for everything.

Yes emotions are chemical based. There are also evolutionary advantages to many emotions. What we call love probably originated in the bond between a parent and its progeny. Empathy developed as tool to avoid pain and aid in the ability to read others.

Sometimes you might argue someone out of love for them.
