It is called early inculcation, AKA brainwashing. A former friend of mine is a nuclear physicist. He is also a god squad member. We fell out over my derision of religion, and the last time we spoke, it was he who brought the subject up. He is a brilliant-but deluded-man, and, while he can analyze any argument on science logically, he falls apart when it comes to his religion, a point he does not enjoy being shown.

All any of us ever want is to be allowed to think, feel and believe what we want.

I'd give a whole awful lot to get my father to feel the way yours does and stop (as min would say) shoving his religion up other people's asses. Be thankful for what you got & let the man alone.

Yes I think you'd be right. She's upset you don't believe because it makes her question why she does believe, and she doesn't like what she finds. That's why a lot of Christians (and other religious people) dislike atheists. Don't look to hard, you might see the cracks.
