PC games. Any suggestions?

RE: PC games. Any suggestions?
People keep mentioning Fallout: New Vegas. Was anyone as disappointed with this game as I was? Not because it was bad, but because it was more of a large expansion pack for Fallout 3.

As for PC games, no one has mentioned Gears of War, which thoroughly kicks ass.

Adventure games you say...?

Try Fable:The Lost Chapters. Realeased in 2005, but it's one of the best games I've ever played with an excellent storyline (Probably played through it more than 4 times). Fable 2 was decent, but I would avoid getting Fable 3 as it is a huge disappointment.

I thought that at first, I didn't see much different. Essentially you are playing the same game, simply because it's the same engine and the same tools used to make the game world.
But it goes much deeper than that, it's the little things in New Vegas which add up to a huge difference for me. There's different critters, totally different places, different quests, and not to mention the superb faction system.
The major thing for me about New Vegas was the world was rather well populated, especially in comparison to Fallout 3. When you put these things together it is very much a different game. But I understand your point entirely.

I wasn't as impressed by New Vegas as I could have been, but then, I wasn't going to be seen as all of the things you do in it are essentially (gameplay wise) the same as what is in Fallout 3. But the content I think is very different, and that's what makes it a stand alone game rather than a glorified expansion.

So basically, I wasn't disappointed, but that's because I knew exactly what I was going to be getting before I ever bought the game. I knew it was just going to be a continuation of Fallout 3, but honestly that's more than fine by me seen as Fallout 3 is probably my all time favourite game.

I do hope in Skyrim though they have a fantastic new engine, because the old one was getting very dated.

I agree with this. Fallout 3 felt so empty it feels like only thing you can find are bandits/ghouls/robots/radscorps/securities... and those annoying children.
But even though there is a good amount of people in towns in NV, I still wasn't satisfied. So I went and modded it. Wink
I find Fallout quite boring without all those fun mods out there.

I like it better than Fallout 3 because it had a lot more of the original Fallout 1 & 2 flavor.

Well, I never played the first two Fallout games so I couldn't make a comparison. I agree that an expansion back on Fallout 3 isn't a bad thing because it is one of my all time favorites, but I guess the thought of a sequel to it got my hopes up too high. After playing through NV once, I didn't have the drive to play again like I did with Fallout 3.

As for Skyrim, they created an entirely new engine from the ground up for it and it looks incredible.

I had the same feeling. I'm doing a playthrough currently though as chuck norris so that should keep things interesting!

Welcome Smile

Starcraft is way too easy, anyone that has basic knowledge of military tactics knows this. Don't like portal, mass effect is cool.

If Starcraft is so easy... fend off my zerg. Original, Brood War, Starcraft 2... you couldn't take my zerg in any of them. I want to see you post statistics of you being in the Grandmaster league before you go on saying Starcraft is easy.

People who don't like portal are impossible to please. GLaDOS is a hilarious sadistic AI.

In a word why Bioware will entirely fail to make a good MMO: Phasing.

Oh, and their entire class system feels lackluster and broken to me after Rift... so Smile

And Guild Wars 2 will be even worse.

Skyrim looks 'more of the same'? Have you even seen those screenshots?! Oblivion my left ankle...

And yet there are people who make millions off of playing competitively and entire leagues devoted to matchmaking and fair games...

Yep. "Too easy."

Keep on with the cowards refrain.
