I couldn't give two shit's about what was wrote in the fucking quran. It's the people who interpret it to commit violent acts which need to be sorted the fuck out.

Rayaan, meant to follow up with you on this, but I was lured down the rabbit hole by Statler and it totally slipped my mind.
Is there a provision in the Qu'ran that allows a wife to strike her husband, in a disciplinary manner, assuming a similar flow chart of corrective action has first been followed? (and of course with the provision that it is permitted, but not encouraged)
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The difference between threatening to hurt someone and actually hurting someone is the length of the sentence: never warn people beforehand if you want a shorter sentence. So, long story short, a husband CAN strike his wife, but he doesn't have to, and he shouldn't. That about it? Surely you don't think they got the woman's point-of-view, do you? Pun fully intended. It's basic human psychological programming. Make non-compliance to the rules terrifying for fear of painful punishment. Is there any religious tradition that's truly civilized? When you go through your day expressing kindness and courtesy to all you meet, you leave behind a feeling of warmth and good cheer, and you help alleviate the burdens everyone is struggling with."

I believe Min, that muslims maintain that the Qu'ran is Allah's point of view. Just trying to get an idea of exactly who we're dealing with here. I have very little knowledge of whats in the Qu'ran specifically. I have however seen Rayaan make the statement that Islam does not condone these sorts of things. If it turns out, that the Qu'ran plainly states that a man may beat his wife, or his children, but that a man may not himself be beaten by his wife or children....it may be disingenuous to claim that the Qu'ran doesn't promote or foster these sorts of acts, that it does not promote violence or sexism. He seems to cling to the idea that it may be permitted, but not promoted. I'm not sure of the difference in the context.
I don't want to simply assume whats in the Qu'ran however...and its a very large book, so I'm asking the honest question.
