Whoa, I need to read more carefully. For a split second I thought you had written "I also love cooking my family". What a difference "for" can make.. Big Grin
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Hobbies, eh? playing hammered dulcimer (fair), calligraphy and illumination (so-so), reading (pretty good at that), ham radio (N4XMH).

Little of everything. Real estate sales is my main source of income but I freelance on the side with graphic design and spend some time playing disc golf, sport shooting, writing for a local music magazine, and playing with my beautiful son. Note: I'm not a gamer. Don't care, never have. It seems pointless to me, but to those who enjoy spending time indoors on a couch ... good for you. You'd make a great American if you're not already.

My favorite hobby by far though is music. No question there.
I'm a gigging musician and on a good month I can pull in an extra 8 to $900 of supplemental money. It's nice getting paid to do the thing you love the most in life and I highly recommend it.

A good game is like a good book or movie, but actually even better, since you get to participate in the story. And I have never turned down a friend who has called me while I have been playing, though fantasy worlds hold many charms, real life is still better.

Oh, and it's a great hobby that I share with my dad, who doesn't live in the same country as I do. We get some r&r and can talk about everyday things at the same time, whilst kicking the ass of monsters. Big Grin

Brilliant storytelling, the social aspect and adrenaline kicks, that pretty sums up why I think games are great and why I can spend so much time indoors on a couch (actually, a chair) Wink

My wife BethK here has been doing that for a couple days, after an apparent anti-atheist malware update to one of her programs caused her computer to have a fatal crash.

She is still trying to get it going properly. She just doesn't seem to see the gospel of Windows. (hehehe) I have never had to re-install any part of the op system once, but she has on her Linux machine several times since we first met four years ago.

If I preach the Book of Microsoft enough times to her, will she come round? (Kind of like asking if our So. Baptist neighbour keeps preaching the Gospels to her she thinks my wife will "come around.")

Perhaps a protection ward around her computer? I'm sure she'd go for that. (Beth and I don't see quite eye-to-eye on religious stuff, but we don't let that get in the way of what is important to us, which is each other.)
Love
James.

It's an addiction Tongue

I used to install new distros every other day, I had to begin saying "No, if this distro is pissing me off i'm going to fix it!"

Still, easier said than done.

Ah the search for the perfect Linux system, I have lost count on how many Linux distributions I have installed over the years. For some reason was never satisfied enough with one single distribution to keep it on my system for more than say a couple of months.

This one needs to be kept under wraps for a while at least. A TV company has commissioned us from Dutchrobotgames to make a robot for a new TV show. We made an agreement not to release any pictures yet before broadcast, but here are the first peaks at our new robot. It is still a work in progress, the latest pictures are not online yet, but the eyes are now working too and the new arms fitted.

And a sneak peak at the powersource:
