Not nitpick or anything but she got nerd confused with geek. A nerd would be more along the lines of leo the robot builder. Geeks, such as myself, play Magic and are into comic books. I do, howver, have nerd-like tendencies, so I am a nerdy geek.

I would call it both, yes.
The line tends to blur in a lot of places, but the naming of a nerd in the OP was clearly a geek.

Hey hey now folks. This poor girl put on her helmet and pick and went mining for some "hedge fund" gold. She's a little pissed at this point, and frustrated because she can't say exactly why she's pissed without coming off like a total douche. Unfortunately, the only narrative she could come up with made her seem like just as a big a douche....but let's not judge..lol.

I read that, and suddenly the irritation I had just vanished. Instead, I merely feel disgust that she had to blame her date for being and publish an article on it.
I do think a lot of the backlash is over the perception that she is a malicious gold digger -- key term on malicious.
For the guy who she badmouthed (Jon Finkel), things appear to have gone rather well...

Wait... A genius-level world champion of tactics wanted to date her, and she turned him down!? For being too geeky!?
I can't help but lol. Based on her story, she'll never get anyone else even close to that dedicated or skilled.
